Welcome to the second annual Miles4METAvivor virtual race - taking place October 1st through October 31st 2018. Miles4Metavivor was founded in honor of Connie Cadwell. Connie was a daughter and loving friend for 68 years, a sister for 66 years, a beautiful wife for 41 years, a Mom for 38 years, and a Grandma/Nana for almost 4 years. She died because of Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) on March 11th 2017, 3 year and 9 months after being diagnosed stage IV de novo. She was 68 years young and had recently celebrated her 41st wedding anniversary.

In 2017, the inaugural year, Miles4METAvivor raised $11,780. This community of patients and survivors, allies and friends and family banded together to fundraise for metastatic breast cancer, to educate and speak the facts. Miles4METAvivor is for every person and family affected by MBC.

This October, race in your place at your pace - run, walk, hike, stroll. Do the miles at once, or spread them out over the month. 100% of your $25 race registration will go to METAvivor's research grant program. You will receive a beautiful race medal and race packet, just like an in-person race. METAvivor's grant program is overseen by breast cancer experts who have dedicated their careers to metastatic research. Applications are peer reviewed and scored by two or more reviewers who donate their time to METAvivor because of their shared goal of increasing metastatic research in order to save lives. Research is vital in making MBC a controllable chronic illness instead of a terminal illness. METAvivor directs 100% of all donations to treatment research.

Create your own fundraising page and tell your personal story of metastatic breast cancer. Your friends and family can register for the virtual race on your page, and you can create your own virtual race team. All registrations through the fundraising pages roll up to the Miles4METAvivor virtual race, and as always 100% of all registrations go directly to METAvivor to fund stage IV breast cancer research.
